MDADM - RAID1conf printout quick reference

0 Kommentare
If you are wondering how to interpret the output of raid1 conf printout, here's something hopefully useful:

Mjolnir kernel: RAID1 conf printout:
Mjolnir kernel: --- wd:1 rd:2
Mjolnir kernel: disk 0, wo:1, o:0, dev:dm-2
Mjolnir kernel: disk 1, wo:0, o:1, dev:dm-1
This is displayed whenever one of the devices successfully disconnects from
the array - all queued requests are completed. In this case, the device
leaving us is dm-2.
What it is trying to say us, is that dm-2 is still in the array,
but not online (o:0) and serving read requests
(wo:1 - write only is true)

This will be followed by something like
Mjolnir kernel: RAID1 conf printout:
Mjolnir kernel: --- wd:1 rd:2
Mjolnir kernel: disk 1, wo:0, o:1, dev:dm-1

This one shows us that dm-2 is gone from raid1. It is actually still in the
array, but just as a faulty spare.
